TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS TO ECUADOR
-
Passport: Ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in Ecuador.
-
Visa: Check if you need a visa to enter Ecuador. Citizens of many countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and most European Union countries, do not need a visa for tourism visits of up to 90 days. However, requirements may vary, so confirm this information for your specific nationality.
-
Tourist Card: Upon arrival in Ecuador, most travelers will need to obtain a Tourist Card, also known as a Tarjeta Andina de Migración (TAM). This card is typically provided on the plane or at immigration upon arrival. Keep the tourist card with your passport, as it will need to be returned when you leave the country.
-
COVID-19 Requirements: Ecuador eliminated its COVID-19 entry requirements effective October 20, 2022. International travelers are no longer required to present COVID-19 vaccination cards or proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to entering Ecuador.
-
Yellow Fever Vaccination (if applicable): If you plan to visit certain areas of Ecuador, especially the Amazon rainforest, you may be required to show proof of a yellow fever vaccination. Check if this requirement applies to you based on your itinerary.
-
Travel Insurance: While not mandatory, it is highly recommended to have comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical expenses, trip cancellation or interruption, and other unforeseen events.
